Transforming maternity care
We are a small practice of Licensed Midwives who provide comprehensive maternity care to healthy, low risk women desiring a low-interventive, out of hospital birth experience. As midwives, we assist birthing families by providing evidence based prenatal care, risk assessment and monitoring, out of hospital delivery, postpartum care and more. We help our clients create goals, discover their options and walk through pregnancy feeling informed and empowered.

For centuries, midwives have been providing care to birthing women all over the world. In fact, in many countries midwives still provide the majority of care to low-risk women with OB/GYNs largely caring for the high risk population. Our hope is to continue building collaborative bridges between midwives and doctors so that all families can receive safe, evidence based care! Online or in-person, this is designated for those interested in midwifery care to meet with one of our Licensed Midwives to discuss their health history, explore options and see if Joyful Beginnings is the right fit for their pregnancy journey!

Sneak Peek Testing
Sneak Peek testing is a blood test that can be done as early as 8 weeks to predict fetal gender within 24-48 hours! This service is open to anyone in the community, even if they are not a client of our practice. Please call our office to schedule. Midwifery Care
At JBBC we offer package rates for both home birth and birth center seeking clients. These package rates include hour long prenatal visits, birth in your home or our center with two Licensed Midwives present, six weeks of postpartum care for mom and six weeks of well-baby care for your newborn. Discounts available. Please call our office to discuss any financial questions.

Perinatal Mental Health Support
Many, many women struggle with Perinatal Mood Disorders (PMADs). This can look like depression and anxiety during pregnancy or postpartum, OCD and rarely, psychosis.
At JBBC, we are passionate about perinatal mental health. With this passion in mind, Midwife Ashley sought certification as a Perinatal Mental Health Professional (PMH-C) and volunteers as the Mental Health Support Coordinator through PSI.
If you, or someone you love is struggling with a perinatal mood disorder - please reach out to your local coordinator through PSI’s website. If you’re in Ashley’s jurisdiction, she’ll be connected with you to provide resources & support!
