LICENSED MIDWIFE | CERTIFIED PERINATAL MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL

Ashley King LM, CPM, PMH-C

Ashley King CPM, LM, PMH-C has been part of the midwifery world for more than 15 years. Her journey began at sixteen, when she was introduced to midwifery and quickly discovered a calling that would shape both her career and her life.

Ashley joined Joyful Beginnings Birth Care as a student in 2010, then as a staff midwife in 2014 and has grown alongside the practice through many seasons. Today, she serves as the Administrative Director of the Joyful Beginnings, helping lead the practice and shape the systems, culture, and care that make the birth center what it is.

While she no longer takes on primary clients of her own, she remains actively involved in clinical care in a more specialized role. She still regularly assists at births and provides focused education and support for families on her favorite topics: Gestational Diabetes and Perinatal Mental Health. She particularly values the opportunity to step into the moments where a family needs a little extra support, perspective, or space to process their experience.

Ashley’s work has increasingly centered on the understanding that pregnancy, birth, and postpartum are about far more than physical health. As a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional (PMH-C), she is passionate about supporting the emotional and psychological wellbeing of growing families. Her additional training in trauma-informed care has deepened her commitment to creating care environments where people feel safe, heard, respected, and empowered.

Outside of Joyful Beginnings, Ashley loves traveling, finding new adventures with her people, and settling into a cozy coffee shop with a notebook and a new idea.
